Maksymilian Faktorowicz owner-Max Factor was a Polish businessman, he emigrated to Los Angeles where he quickly main success selling wigs and cosmetics to the emerging film industry. Factor's create new style of makeup for Hollywoods actors such as Jean Harlow and Marlene Dietrich. Max Factor met the demand with new lines of products for the mass market, making Hollywood glamour and fashion available to all. He was also the first to market his products as "make-up", a term that had previously been looked down upon but that quickly became an essential part of almost every woman's daily routine.
